Anxiety Therapy
You’re exhausted from feeling “on edge” all the time.
You lie awake replaying the day, worrying about tomorrow, and wondering why your brain can’t just…calm down.
If anxiety is taking up more space in your life than joy, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to stay stuck here.
At New Chapter Therapy, I help adults and college students in Hendersonville, Nashville, and across Tennessee (via online therapy) find practical tools, a deeper understanding, and a kinder inner voice so they can move through life with more peace and confidence.
Is Anxiety Taking Over Your Day?
Anxiety can show up in so many ways.
You might notice:
Constant overthinking and second-guessing yourself
A racing mind that won’t “shut off,” especially at night
Tightness in your chest, knots in your stomach, or headaches
Feeling easily overwhelmed or irritable
Avoiding plans, emails, conversations, or decisions because they feel like “too much.”
Panic attacks or sudden waves of fear that seem to come out of nowhere
Worry that you’re “too sensitive,” “too much,” or “not enough.”
Anxiety isn’t a personal failing. It’s often your nervous system working overtime to try to keep you safe. Therapy can help you understand what your anxiety is trying to do for you, and teach it healthier ways to cope.
How Therapy for Anxiety Can Help
Anxiety therapy at New Chapter Therapy is designed to help you:
Understand your anxiety – where it comes from, what triggers it, and how it shows up in your body and thoughts
Calm your nervous system – with grounding tools, breathwork, and body-based strategies you can actually use in real life
Challenge anxious thoughts – gently noticing and reframing unhelpful patterns without shaming yourself
Build practical coping skills – so you’re not just “venting,” but leaving sessions with things you can try between appointments
Heal old wounds – when past experiences or trauma are fueling your anxiety in the present
Reconnect with your values – so anxiety isn’t the loudest voice in the room; your hopes and priorities are
You don’t have to eliminate anxiety to build a meaningful, peaceful life. Our work focuses on helping anxiety step out of the driver’s seat so you can feel more steady, present, and empowered.

What to Expect in Therapy for Anxiety
Before your first session
You’ll complete intake paperwork through my secure online portal so we can make the most of our time together. If you have questions about the process, you can always reach out before we meet.
In our first session
We’ll spend time getting to know you—your story, your current struggles, and what you hope will be different. We’ll talk about:
What anxiety looks like for you
Your history (as much as you’re ready to share)
Your goals for therapy
Any fears or questions you have about the process
There’s no pressure to share everything at once. You get to set the pace.
Ongoing sessions
Over time, we will:
Practice tools to use when anxiety spikes
Explore the deeper roots of your fears and worries
Build new patterns in how you relate to yourself and others
Celebrate the small wins along the way
Common Questions about Therapy for Anxiety
What if my anxiety is not ‘bad enough’ for therapy?
If anxiety is affecting your sleep, relationships, work, or sense of self, it’s valid. You don’t have to hit rock bottom to deserve support.
Will therapy just make me talk about things I’d rather avoid?
We go gently and collaboratively. You’re always in control of what you share, and we’ll build coping skills alongside any deeper work so you don’t feel flooded.
How long will it take to feel better?
Everyone’s journey is different, but many people begin to notice shifts after practicing new skills consistently and having a supportive space to process what they’re carrying. We’ll check in often about what’s working and what you need.
